Sodium Lignosulfonate

Sodium lignosulfonate is used in the following situations and applications. Its primary use is in concrete admixtures to reduce water demand and increase workability/flow of fresh concrete, enabling production of higher-strength concrete. In cement production it functions as a grinding aid in the cement mill by reducing viscosity of raw slurry during raw material preparation. By reducing concrete water demand, it allows production of more flowable concrete and can slow the hydration rate. It reduces porosity and increases concrete density, thereby improving concrete strength and impermeability.
