Sodium Gluconate

Sodium gluconate is the sodium salt of gluconic acid, produced by fermentation of glucose. It is a white, granular to crystalline solid, highly soluble in water. Non-corrosive and non-toxic; biodegradable. Resistant to oxidation and reduction even at elevated temperatures. Its main property is excellent chelating capacity, especially in alkaline and concentrated alkaline solutions. Forms stable chelates with calcium, iron, copper, aluminum and other heavy metals. Acts as a sequestrant superior to EDTA, NTA and phosphonates in many applications. Applications: - Food: dairy products, diet foods, herb and spice blends, meat products. - Pharmaceuticals: injections. - Personal care: oral care, skin care, toilet preparations. - Cleaners and detergents: dishwashing detergents, household cleaners, industrial cleaning agents. - Industrial uses: agrochemicals, construction chemicals, inks/paints/dyes, metal finishing, paper auxiliaries, photochemicals, textile auxiliaries, water treatment.
